Google Rolls Out June 2019 Core Update

Google officially launched a broad core update on Monday, June 3rd, 2019. The June 2019 Core Update is live and will continue to roll out over the coming days. The following announcement was made via the official Twitter account, Google SearchLiaison:

“...we are releasing a broad core algorithm update, as we do several times per year. It is called the June 2019 Core Update. Our guidance about such updates remains as we’ve covered before.”

Google regularly releases core updates. In fact, its last core update was released in March 2019. While Google claims there is no “fix” for their core updates, they shared the following advice on Twitter after last year’s broad core algorithm update:

“Each day, Google usually releases one or more changes designed to improve our results. Some are focused around specific improvements. Some are broad changes. Last week, we released a broad core algorithm update. We do these routinely several times per year. As with any update, some sites may note drops or gains. There’s nothing wrong with pages that may now perform less well. Instead, it’s that changes to our systems are benefiting pages that were previously under-rewarded. There’s no “fix” for pages that may perform less well other than to remain focused on building great content. Over time, it may be that your content may rise relative to other pages.”

Although Google claims the June 3rd update isn’t a major one, our SEO specialists continue to analyze web analytics and search console performance reports to determine how sites are impacted from the algorithm update. To see more advice from Google around Google updates, see their Twitter thread.
